MOSAICO
Society of Houston Mosaic Artists

Mission

The Society of Houston Mosaic Artists strives to increase awareness and appreciation of mosaics through education, inspiration, and promotion of excellence in mosaic arts local to the Houston, Texas area.

History

Three Houston mosaic artists formed the group in 2006 to meet regularly and learn from each other. Our group uses materials including stained glass, artist made tile, glass tile, smalti, ceramic and porcelain tile, fused glass creations, and stone, covering all techniques for both indoor and outdoor mosaics, 2D and 3D. Please visit our public Facebook page.

Many members of the local MOSAICO-Houston group are also members of SAMA, Society of American Mosaic Artists. In 2014, MOSAICO Houston hosted SAMA's 13th annual conference.

Membership

We are a social organization with monthly meetings held on the second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. where we share techniques, tips, processes, projects we are working on or problems we are having with our projects.

With a growing membership (from seasoned mosaic artists to newly interested), we communicate through a closed "members only" Houston Mosaic Group Members. If you are interested in joining our group, please visit our members Facebook page and request to join our group. You will then be asked to answer three questions. You must live in or around the Houston area to be a member. All skill levels welcome.
